Here's a more in-depth look at our initiatives and giving causes on the Micro, Meso, and Macro Levels. We not only want to bring awareness to multiple issues and facilitate positive change throughout the world, but we also want to be an integral part of the process. Starting from the manufacturing and fulfilment, to the customer's journey, and finally at the global impact level through research, a myriad of causes, and actionable change, Honour Him is there at every stage.
Micro, Meso, and Macro-level Impact
At the grassroots level, we look at what’s important for the consumer's impact; not only looking at what goes into every Honour Him product, but also how that effects you and the people around you. Within the medium system of change, we work with relatively local and completely ethical in-house manufacturers spanning across four different countries and two continents. Not only are our products environmentally conscious, but we also further reduce our footprint by shipping our products from their respective production locations straight to our customers. These partnerships also help stimulate the transatlantic economy and contribute to the local communities in which these factories reside.
What Being a Social Business Means
Oftentimes, the word “social” pays homage to the online communities and networks at large online and in our daily interactions presently. But we could also assume that a social business relates to the sociological aspects of how a business interacts with its consumers, however it’s much more than that. Creating a social business or enterprise takes several iterations to hit multiple targets of what it means to be “social”—that is, socially responsible.
What is social responsibility, you might ask
Well, the economic lens of social responsibility relates to how a business impacts the world as a whole. Think of Gestalt: the bigger picture, and what it takes to make that idealised change a reality.
The main pillars of such change relies on these factors:
- Human Rights
- Ethical Standards
- Economic Development
- Fair Labour and Management
- Community Impact
Aside from our manufacturing efforts, this is also where our Mission Partners come in…
More About Our Mission Partners
We are always mindful of God's Creation, that's why we've partnered with Ecologi, an environmental organisation who funds projects that heal deforestation, creates equal employment opportunities, and access to education on a global scale with The Eden Reforestation Project and The Gold Standard among others, and in congruence with UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
With every purchase, funds will be donated to support various sustainable development projects and trees will be planted to offset carbon emissions.
So far with our partnership, we’ve planted over 450 trees, thus receiving our first merit badge (shown above) and have removed over 6 tonnes of carbon. For more information, visit our Ecologi Impact Forest.
International Justice Mission
Positive ethical impact is in our DNA, that's why with every purchased item we'll help fundraise programs from International Justice Mission (IJM), a Christian Human Rights organisation that strives to end modern-day slavery around the world. This includes human trafficking, forced labour, violence against women and children, citizenship rights abuse, police abuse of power, and land theft. Funding provides rescue efforts, strengthening the justice system, establishing accountability on the oppressors, and providing support for survivors.
Our goal is to not only make a difference through our ethical manufacturing, but to play an even bigger and more active role by supporting such a mission on the front lines.
The IJM Global Impact Map
Our world is filled with injustice and strife, but it takes one moment to pray for that to create a transformation and another to move towards actionable change.
Fashion Makes Change
We've also partnered with Fashion Makes Change, a philanthropic network in partnerships with ecommerce solutions, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, We@Work Collaborative, and Responsible Business Coalition. Creating the initiative to instil ethical supply chains within the fashion industry and promote advocacy, education, socioeconomic, and female equality and empowerment across multiple communities around the world. Women are most affected by climate change and unethical treatment within the supply chain.
The impact of this initiative creates a collaboration between a number of organisations that were built to support women and create a positive influence in the fashion industry, as women are an integral part of this symbiotic partnership as both producers and consumers.
At Honour Him Apparel & Co. we believe that everyone has the power, through Christ (Philippians 4:12-13) to make a positive and empathetic impact on our communities for the Glory of God. Together we can create change when we build, make, pray, buy, and take steps towards raising awareness for the betterment of our world.
